The DELIBERATE vision

A world where work is a catalyst for growth, connection and fulfilment, with more human workplaces where people and teams thrive, rather than just survive.

The DELIBERATE method

Our approach to learning and growth is based on mindset, psychology and systems.
We focus on work-life alignment, developing mental and emotional agility through practical experiments and action-based learning, to build growth that lasts.

The DELIBERATE difference

01.

Self-awareness and identity

True to our name, self-understanding, intention and ownership are critical aspects of our approach

02.

Exceptional listening beyond the surface

I'm quick to identify underlying factors, thanks to training in psychology, peer support and counselling skills.

03.

Person-centred, outcome-driven

My focus is always on the client's wellbeing, but I'll also nudge you towards outcomes, so you realize how much you're capable of

04.

Startup, corporate, policy, psychology

My experiences over 15+ years means a range of perspectives, and mix of experimentation, iteration, systems and structure

05.

Diversity as a source of strength

I'm committed to creating a safe space for clients across different backgrounds, with particular support for the LGBTQIA+ community

Hello, I'm Lin

I partner professionals to define and pursue work that fuels your growth and goals, through psychology-driven coaching.

I believe that work can be fulfilling and empowering, but it often overruns our lives. We spend 80,000-90,000 hours of our lives working. That's a long time to be frustrated, unhappy, unmotivated and doing something that isn't aligned with your best self.

Most people don't take action to build a deliberate life and career, until they hit a wall - burnout, relationship breakdown, retrenchment, disengagement.

And what holds us back from action is convention and conditioning. The patterns and expectations that served us when we were younger, don't always serve us at later stages of our lives.

I combine my training in psychology, with my experience working across different industries (venture capital, startup, corporate, public service, non-profits) and living in Singapore, Australia, China and the UK., into a process to uncover your limiting beliefs and build habits that will help you achieve an authentically successful life.

The DELIBERATE approach

01

Root cause and self-leadership

Rather than focus only on the surface issue, I work with clients on recognizing underlying factors, and help you build more ownership over your outcomes, thoughts and actions

02

Psychology-driven coaching

I combine coaching with evidence-based psychology and cognitive science to address mindsets, attachment, emotions, assumptions and motivations, to overcome your challenges more effectively

Empathy first, challenge next

03

I see incredible strength in my coachees, and believe that psychological safety is required to bring those strengths out. Understanding and validating your experiences and concerns is a critical; I'll also design challenges that help you grow safely, towards your goals

04

Reflection-Action-Experimentation

Whole of self in context

05

My approach is action-focused for practical outcomes, and uniquely combines tools and perspectives from 15 years of experience in startups, corporate engagement, psychology and systems thinking. Lasting growth requires introspection AND interaction. This also helps develop strengths and confidence.

What first brings you to coaching is usually not the whole picture. While we focus on the topic or goal you have, we will also look at other factors and influences in different parts of life, for deeper, sustained change.
